Multiple DUIs Can Magnify The Charges — But I Can Help

With every drunk driving conviction, the penalties become more severe. You could pay larger fines, spend more time in jail and have your license suspended for a longer period of time. If you have been arrested for your second, third or fourth offense, you need a skilled criminal defense attorney who can protect your rights and work to minimize the penalties in your case.

I am lawyer Eric T. Hamilton. I have more than 20 years of experience as a Visalia multiple DUI defense attorney. With my knowledge and experience of the local laws, courts and law enforcement procedures, I can guide you through the process and advise you on your options.

Beware Of The Penalties Of Multiple DUIs

With each conviction for drunk driving in California, you face increased penalties:

  • Second offense: With your second drunk driving conviction within a 10-year period, you could be in jail from 90 days to a year, lose your license for two years and be fined up to $1,000.
  • Third offense: If you are convicted a third time within a 10-year period, you face 120 days to a year in jail, up to $1,000 in fines as well as a three-year license suspension.
  • Fourth offense: The fourth offense within a 10-year period could result in 180 days to 16 months in jail, up to $1,000 in fines and a four-year license suspension.

Additionally, each conviction could result in two points on your license as well as increased insurance costs. You may also need to participate in a treatment program.

The Stakes Are High. Discuss Your Options With Me, Attorney Hamilton.

I am experienced at defending clients from DUI convictions. I will examine every aspect of your traffic stop and arrest, including whether the officer had probable cause to pull you over. I will also look at whether the field sobriety tests were properly administered as well as any blood or breath tests.
